Trestle House – Creative House Design with A Tight Budget

This natural house is built on a steeply sloping site with a minimum budget. Tyler Engle Architect builds this house as a challenge because of the tight budget and very difficult construction but must present a comfy house for living. This house is called “Trestle House” because of the foundation systems which need lot of trestle to build a strong house. By the use of a 12’ x 16’ grid to create a short structural span and 4’x 8’ sheet of plywood which is inspired by Japanese Tatami mat module are very creative solutions to meet the budget. Surrounded by trees make this house blends in a perfect harmony to the nature. The interior design looks so clean and minimalist. Glass windows and doors let the outside view to come in and fill the house with lot of sunlight. This amazing house looks so comfortable and a great living space.
